SWIM LESSON AND LIFEGUARD DIRECTOR
The Yakima Athletic Club is looking for a water enthusiast to be our Aquatics Department Director. More specifically, this position is the swim lessons and life guard director role and plays a vital part of the aquatics production at the Yakima Athletic Club.
JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY: Retention of membership through effective aquatics programming
HOURS: Part-time with seasonal fluctuations
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate all swim lessons and lifeguard programs relevant for the Yakima Valley Racquet Club, Inc. Yakima Athletic Club.
- Swim Lessons-Private and Group
- Lifeguarded Sessions
Monthly payroll duties for the mentioned staff. Recruit, hire, train, manage, and evaluate the all aquatic staff; coordinate and conduct a diverse and accessible schedule of fitness classes for all abilities and fitness levels; assist in advertising for classes and programs; assist in additional program and promotional activities. A current WSI/LGT certification, a degree/diploma in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education or at minimum Personal Training and Group Fitness Certification from an accredited association (NASM, ACE, ACSM) is recommended; 2 years supervisor experience; must have or obtain a current AED/CPR certification.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Producing current schedules in-house and on ABC/Data track and current app
Collect and track payroll for lifeguards and swim instructors
- Assist in recruitment of new employees, hiring and termination procedures are required, working to build a unique, professional staff. Scheduling, coordinating, conducting staff meetings
- Utilize internal and external marketing to attract and develop loyal program participants
ยท Bi-annual coordination and assistance in Dome removal and installation

- Scheduling flexibility to be able to work during club peak hours which may include mornings, evenings and occasional weekends and seasonal fluctuations.
