CHECK-IN PROCEDURE

  • All members, guests, and activity program participants must check in at the front desk.
  • Members must scan membership key tag.
  • Temporary members must show activity card each visit.
  • A locker key and small workout towel may be obtained at no charge to use for the duration of your visit in exchange for a driver’s license or car keys.

GUEST POLICY
The primary focus for our members to bring in guests is to experience the club and allow the opportunity for our member's out-of-town visitors to enjoy working out during their stay. We have temporary one, two, and three-week passes that out-of-town guests may purchase. If the guest is a local resident of Yakima, the following guides will be required.

  • Members must accompany guests.
  • The same guest is limited to 5 visits per year at the discounted fee of $10.00 each plus tax. After 5 visits, the regular guest fee will be required. Non-members’ guest fee is $20.00+tax for day use.
  • Guest must fill out and sign the guest register at the front desk.
  • Non-member children ages 3-14 years old, may use the pool, tennis, and racquetball court for a $5+tax each guest fee.

It is prohibited for any member or guest to conduct personal training on the club premises.

CLUB ATTIRE/HYGIENE

  • Comfortable workout wear is acceptable: however, because of our concern for personal hygiene, we consider appropriate club attire to be t-shirts, tank tops, shorts or sweats, and athletic shoes.
  • Only non-marking athletic shoes that have not been worn outside may be worn.
  • No Sandals or open-toed shoes, books or denim are acceptable while working out.
  • A T-shirt and appropriate workout shoes must be worn at all times on the workout floor, weight rooms, and fitness studio with the exception of Yoga/Body Flow.
  • Please be considerate of your body odor. YAC staff reserve the right to address you privately if your body odor is enough to disrupt other people.
  • If you are feeling sick or showing symptoms of a cold please do not attend the facility.

COURT INFORMATION
Yakima Athletic Club reserves the right to schedule courts for programs outside of racquetball/pickleball. These events, classes, etc. will be posted in-house and members will not be able to schedule a court at those times.

  • Same-day reservations for racquetball/handball and pickleball courts are made at the front desk. Two full names (first and last) are required to reserve a court. Court is open for play if there is no reservation.
  • Courts are reserved for one hour. No back-to-back reservations.
  • Reservations are held for ten minutes. YAC clocks will regulate time.
  • Racquetball racquets must have wrist straps and protective guards.
  • Protective eyewear is mandatory for racquetball, and strongly recommended for pickleball.
  • Only non-marking shoes are allowed on the courts.

LOCKER USE

  • Lockers are available for daily use at no additional charge.
  • A locker key may be obtained in exchange for a driver’s license or car keys.
  • There is a $25 charge for lost locker keys.
  • Rental lockers are available in various sizes for a monthly fee. Members are responsible for their own keys. (Lockers subject to availability).
  • The YAC is not responsible for articles lost or stolen in the club or on club property. PLEASE LOCK UP YOUR VALUABLES.

SMOKING AND FIREARMS

  • Smoking, vaping or use of tobacco or marijuana products in any form is not allowed in the club facility, or outside on the club property.
  • Firearms/weapons are prohibited on YAC property unless authorized by management.

LOST AND FOUND

  • All found items will be dated and held at the front desk for 4 weeks.
  • Please call as soon as possible and report missing items.
  • After a 4-week period, all found items will be donated to a local charity.

POOL AND LOCKER ROOM RULES

  • There is always one lane available for lap swimming during club hours.
  • No diving.
  • No hanging on the basketball hoop in the pool.
  • No cutoff or unhemmed shorts are allowed in the pool or hot tubs.
  • Please shower before entering the pool or hot tubs.
  • No spitting, nose-blowing, or chewing in any part of the club, in any drinking fountains, shower, hot tub, steam room, and sauna. Please wear a towel in the sauna and steam room and when sitting on stools.

 

EXERCISE AREAS (Group Fitness Rooms, Cardio Deck, Weight Rooms, Pool)

  • Staff will assist you if you are unsure of proper equipment use.
  • Please limit cardio machine use to 30 minutes during busy times.
  • It is mandatory to wipe off all equipment after use with the disinfectant wipes that are placed throughout the club. Each member and/or guest is to clean all areas of sweat after use. Please ask for a rag towel to wipe excessive sweat off of the floors and equipment.
  • Please do not bring children or visitors to wait for you or watch while you work out. Children are not allowed in the exercise areas and will be directed to the Kid’s Club.
  • No gym bags or purses are allowed in the exercise areas. Please use a locker.
  • Refer to Children’s Club use Guidelines for equipment use for children ages 12-14.

CHILDREN’S POLICIES

  • Children under the age of 15 years old MUST be supervised at all times while in the club, or on the club premises.
  • Children over the age of 5 years old are not allowed in the opposite sex locker room. Please utilize our family change room downstairs or the restrooms upstairs.
  • Children on family memberships will be removed from the membership at the age of 26 years old. They will have 3 months from the date of their 26th birthday to join with no joining fee. (Rates will vary for different age groups.
  • Summer baby-sitters or exchange students may be added to a membership for a fee of $10 per month/per person. The membership must be paid in advance for the period of time it will be used. Each add-on will need to fill out a temporary contract with the parent’s signature required if they are less than 18 years old.

ALCOHOL

  • Alcohol may be consumed during special events (tournaments/league events_ in the front desk lounge, and court #2 viewing area only. No alcohol in locker rooms or any undesignated area of the club at any time. Special banquet permits will be posted at the front desk.
  • Alcohol will only be consumed by those 21 years of age or older with proper identification.

RESIGNATION/BILLING POLICIES

  • All members must give a written notice and complete a membership cancellation form either In-Person or Certified Mail 30 days prior to the banking withdrawal date to the Business Office before resignation from the Yakima Athletic Club.
  • All account balances are payable by the contracted payment terms and will be subject to an 18% late charge.
  • Membership status may be upgraded at any time for a $25 processing fee.
  • Please contact the Business Office for any billing or resignation questions.


ANTI-HARASSMENT POLICY

The Yakima Athletic Club strictly enforces an anti-harassment policy with its membership, guests, employees, and extra program participants. Our goal is to provide an environment free from tensions created by non-work-related conduct, including ethnic, racial, sexual, or religious remarks, animosity, unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other such conduct. Harassment includes, without limitation, verbal harassment (epithets, derogatory statements, slurs), physical harassment (assault, physical interference with normal work involvement), visual harassment (posters, cartoons, drawings, t-shirts), and innuendo. Violation of this conduct may result in suspension or termination of membership privileges.

 

FACILITY USE REMINDERS

General Membership Guidelines

  • Members must scan their membership card upon entry. This includes pickleball court usage.
  • No children under the age of 12 are allowed on the workout floor, racquetball court viewing area, or front desk table area. Please inquire at the front desk for more child-specific protocols.
  • It is prohibited for any guest or member to conduct personal training on the premises. Doing so will result in a revoked membership.
  • Sweat and eucalyptus towels are offered as a free amenity while using the facility. Please return your used sweat towels in designated towel bins before leaving.
  • Cell phone usage is for music only. You must be authorized to use for pictures and videos. Using a camera in the locker room can result in a revoked membership.
  • Please use the conference room for long phone calls or Facetime videos.

Workout Guidelines & Etiquette

  • Re-rack and wipe down all equipment after use. Please do your best to use 1-2 gym disinfectant wipes when wiping down equipment after use.
  • Do not drop free weights or dumbbells on the floor. Do not drop weight stacks on selectorized machines.
  • No profanity, excessive grunting, yelling, or loud personal music. We reserve the right to determine “excessive”. Horse play and rowdy behavior is not allowed.
  • Use proper personal hygiene. You will be asked politely to address your hygiene if it is an ongoing issue.
  • Shirts/tank tops are required when working out.
  • Please lift responsibly. Ask a trainer for assistance if necessary. The use of two collars on bars with plates is recommended.

Locker Room Guidelines

  • Lockers are for use during the time of visit only. For overnight or extended use monthly locker rental is available.
  • Items left in the locker rooms after closing will be placed in our lost and found for 30 days.
  • No gym bags, jackets, or coats are allowed to be on the floor. Please use a locker or coat hanger.
  • YAC is not responsible for any lost or stolen items on the property.

Parking

  • We have accessible parking spaces for disabled parking, permits are required, and should be visible to park in these spaces.
  • Please do not pull in so far that your vehicle's front end is hanging over the sidewalk.
  • Please read and respect lawn signage with regard to parking and watering days so that your vehicle does not get sprayed.
