The Get in Shape Challenge was exactly what I needed to get back into my groove. As a mom to two little ones, ages 1 and 3, life is beautifully full—but also exhausting. Between teaching water aerobics Tuesday morning at 9:15 and working part-time as a dental hygienist, my days stay busy, and for a while, I let my own health slip to the bottom of the list.

That’s why this challenge came at the perfect time. Finding space to work out isn’t always easy, but I’ve learned that even a small window carved out for myself can make a big difference. This wasn’t about quick fixes—it was about putting in real work and creating real change. Early mornings before my kids woke up. Late nights when I wanted to skip but didn’t. Staying consistent with a calorie deficit, tracking my macros, and making sure I was fueling my body with high-protein meals. It wasn’t always perfect, but it was consistent.
I also didn’t do this alone. I’m incredibly grateful for my supportive husband and two amazing mom friends who have been alongside me in this journey. And a special thank you to the wonderful kids club ladies—Miss Jaime, Darcee, and Lynzee—for taking such great care of my babies while I put in the work. That kind of support made all the difference on the days I felt tired or overwhelmed.
More than anything, this experience became so much more than a challenge—it became a lifestyle shift. I proved to myself that I can stay committed, push through the hard days, and still show up fully for my family.
And the best part? I’m just getting started. I’ll be back next year—stronger, more focused, and with new goals to achieve.
