Introducing visual arts to the Yakima Athletic Club – Create MORE!

The Yakima Athletic Club is lucky enough to have members of many backgrounds and accomplishments who we like to dote on from time to time. We have former professional athletes, published authors, decorated military and first responders, business owners, and even world-renowned artists like our very own Michael Bell.

Including art as part of the member experience has been a goal of mine since attending a conference last fall in which I learned about the importance of the unique member experience – something that our members get to see, smell, hear, or experience only when they are at the YAC – something that sets us apart from any other gym.

Starting in the middle of March, you will get to experience art that you would normally see in a gallery or art show on the walls at the Yakima Athletic Club. We will be one of 20 locations that Michael has his collections displayed; some of the other locations being as far as Australia, Fiji, and Tonga. Michael Bell, who relocated to Yakima in 2020, uses acrylics, inks and pastels to create his pieces of colorful work. The pieces that you see on display are for the viewing pleasure of our members but are also available for sale through Michael’s website.

Along with the pieces in the club, we want to further the member experience by helping our members keep their creative minds fit at the same time they keep their bodies fit! Michael and the YAC will be hosting collaborative pastel art nights for our members to create their own art to take home, with some of the pieces being put on display at the YAC. Be on the lookout soon for those dates and times to be released!

We hope that you enjoy seeing the new, vibrant pieces added to our walls and that it makes your time spent with us more unique! We look forward to having you at our first pastel paint night – for pre-registration, please email me: kendyl@yakimaathletic.com

In health and happiness!
